Celine Nguyen Ms. Asuncion English 9 Honors, Block 6 20 November 2015 Hope Is Always Here              In your life, there are some good days and there are some bad days. You might have a day when something amazing has happened to you and you jump for joy. You might have a day when something bad unexpectedly slaps you across the face. You might feel like you can't handle what has happened to you and you start to lose hope. To everyone who has lost hope, I am here to tell you that you will have hope again.              In the book Hope Was Here , Joan Bauer writes about a girl who gives hope to people. Hope Yancey is sixteen years old and she works as a waitress at a restaurant every time she moves to a new place. She lives with her aunt, Addie, who is a cook. Hope has been through a lot in her life and she has a lot going on in her life. When she was a baby, she was born too early and too sm...
Emma Franks  Asuncion English 9 Honors 16 November 2015 The Fault in Our Stars             The Fault in Our Stars is a about a sixteen-year-old girl named Hazel who has lung cancer, and a boy named Augustus Waters who had osteosarcoma  which caused him to lose his leg. They meet at a cancer support group and they quickly fall in love. This is a book that shows the reality of young people living with, and dying of cancer, and still manages to convey a sense of humor and romance. This book had me crying one minute and laughing the next, as I believe every good book can make you do.             There are many deep, metaphorical thoughts in this book, and some rather silly ones. I think this helps the book appeal to all ages. “ There was a time before organisms experienced consciousness, and there will be a time after. And if the inevitability of human oblivi...

Melody however has a photographic memory and she is probably the smartest person in her whole school. Nobody thinks Melody knows anything, and assumes she is mentally retarded. One day Melody and her classmates were  invited to come join some 4th and 5th grade classes. She gets to participate in Music class, History, and Language Arts. While in music class Melody meets Rose, a girl in most of her inclusion classes. They instantly beco...

There are many reasons why a person or group would bully others like there are many types of bullying. An everyday occurrence can also be seen through movies, TV shows, books, stories, commercials, and anything we see or read. Some groups of people and organizations show the world about bullying, the effects from being bullied, how to spot the signs and symptoms, and try to get people to understand the message across. They are doing to try to limit or at least prevent bullying from occurring. In All Summer in a Day , by Ray Bradbury, he tells a story about a girl named Margot how she gets bullied because she’s different from all the other kids (Bradbury 2). “Margot is being judged and bullied because she was born on Earth and remember about the sun while the other students were born on Venus an...
