It’s Not Funny
Have you ever been bullied? Many of us would say yes to this question because it’s always happening around us. There are many reasons why a person or group would bully others like there are many types of bullying. An everyday occurrence can also be seen through movies, TV shows, books, stories, commercials, and anything we see or read. Some groups of people and organizations show the world about bullying, the effects from being bullied, how to spot the signs and symptoms, and try to get people to understand the message across. They are doing to try to limit or at least prevent bullying from occurring.
In All Summer in a Day, by Ray Bradbury, he tells a story about a girl named Margot how she gets bullied because she’s different from all the other kids (Bradbury 2). “Margot is being judged and bullied because she was born on Earth and remember about the sun while the other students were born on Venus and rarely get to see the sun” (Bradbury 1). This also happens in real life bullying. Two different worlds, but the reality of it is the same. In the story, Margot was verbally, emotionally, and kind of physical bullied. However, there are four types of bullying: verbal, physical, emotional, and cyber bullying. Each type of bullying is different, but the consequences are deadly.
I do not think I have ever been bullied, but I had friends who were or had been bullied. Also, I have read books and seen movies or TV shows that shows bullying to give me a sense of what it is. It breaks my heart how people bully other people because of their appearance, the way they speak, their sexuality, if they have any disability, and etc, without getting to know that person. Some people bully other people because of their own personal experience. If the bullies were given a chance to talk about their problems to other people, then there is a chance for the bullying to go down. Also, if everyone was able to spot the signs of someone being bullied, many bullied victims could be saved.

Some may think bullying is not a big deal, but if you think about it there are many effects that happen to a person who has been a victim. Many bystanders do not bother or are too scared of the bullied to speak up about it, but if they do, the world would be so different. Death occurring to bullied victims would decrease, and bullying would not be as important as it is now a days. I learned that bullying should be taken seriously and not to judge anyone before you get to know them because that person could be your best friend, boyfriend or girlfriend, wife or husband, or anyone that’s important to you.
