The Unknown
A girl named Alicia lived in Texas with her mom, dad, and brother. She was very nice, honest, and trustworthy. She never changed her personality based on who she was around. Because of her personality, she had a lot of friends, but many also disliked her. All her teachers loved her; not only because she was a great student, but for her personality. She had very loving grandparents who lived in California. And Alicia loved them very much too. She talked to them almost everyday. and she visited them at least a minimum of once every 6 months. She was very close to everyone in her family.
One day, when she was walking home from school, a van stopped in her way. She did not recognize any of them, and they seemed to be in their mid 20’s or early 30’s. They were all dressed in black head to toe, and asked her if she wanted a ride. She said she would go home by herself, and she ran home immediately. She tried to remember the licence plate; her parents always told her to note down the license plate of any car that seems to be suspicious. She got home safely, and she told her parents what happened right away. The next few days, they dropped her off, and picked her up from school. After a week, Alicia started to walk to and from school regularly again. She saw that same car she saw the other day, but this time on her way to school.
She started to run to school, but because she was running without watching out where she was going, she got hit by a truck. She was immediately admitted to the hospital. The police informed her parents right away. Her parent came to the hospital immediately. They were told that she was in very critical condition, and her survival chance was low. Her parents regretted not dropping her and picking her up from school everyday. They did not tell anyone else, because they did not want to upset anyone else. They were very upset, and could not think of anything to do. They had no option but to hope that everything would be alright. They stayed in the hospital with their daughter for the next couple of days. Approximately after a week, Alicia became conscious again. Her parents were really relieved and thankful. The bad news was that she was injured on her head in a place that was very delicate, and so she had to be very careful. The doctors told her that she might be affected by that in any activity, including her performance in school. They also said that she still has a slight chance of death- maybe in the next 5-7 years. They were again hoping for everything to be alright, but they were happy that she got out of the danger zone for right now.
5 Years Later
Alicia was doing fine, even though it took her a while to recover. She was doing great in school like always, and she was being able to do participate in all of her activities. She had to go to regular check-ups, and in the most recent one, they found out that Alicia was being affected by the injury from the accident. They said that she can be affected by it slowly, or very quickly. Sadly, Alicia was being affected by it quickly, and they were predicting for her to die within the next month. Her parents were very upset again, but tried to enjoy their last few days with her. Again, they did not tell anyone, this time including Alicia. They took Alicia to her grandparents house, and they tried to satisfy all of Alicia’s last wishes. She did not know that she was going to die soon, and she was enjoying it a lot. Her parents felt happy that they were being able to keep Alicia happy for the last few days of her life.
27 days have passed, and Alicia collapsed when she was talking to her parents  about how much fun she had at her grandparents place. That was the saddest time of their parents lives, and they did not know how to tell their family and close friends. They needed someone to share their feelings with, but were not sure with whom to share.
A whole day passed, and no movement in the house. Alicia’s parents were sitting in their bedroom sobbing the whole day, and did not eat anything. They heard their door bell ring, and they were not sure who it could have been. They slowly opened the door, and were surprised to see Alicia’s grandparents. They had flowers and a gift bag in their in their hands. It turned out to be that Alicia’s grandparents came to surprise Alicia since it was her birthday tomorrow. This made her parents feel even worse, and they told them that she died the day before. They thought that they were joking, and they went on in looking for Alicia.
No matter how much they tried to tell them that Alicia died, they did not trust them. It turned out to be that they had talked to Alicia just on their way here. Alicia’s parents were very surprised. They showed them proof of Alicia’s death, and as they were showing them that, her grandma’s phone rang, and it was Alicia calling. No one moved. They were all very shocked, confused, and scared. They lifted it up, and put it on speaker, and it was Alicia speaking…
